What are the ventilation requirements for malt drying?
Malt drying ventilation has the following specific requirements
(1) There should be a reasonable ventilation device for drying furnace to save energy. It is suggested that the drying furnace should adopt blast suction device, which can strengthen dehydration and save a lot of energy. In the dehydration stage, a blower is responsible for sending hot air through the wheat layer to evaporate and take away water, and an axial flow fan is used to pump and exhaust air to the outside of the furnace to achieve the purpose of rapid dehydration of wheat layer. In the baking stage, the hot air needs to circulate in the drying furnace without exhausting. The axial fan can be stopped and the full return air can be used to meet the requirements of baking. The efficiency of the bottom blower is higher than that of the suction or other methods in the case of poor sealing of the drying furnace and ventilation duct.
(2)When the air temperature is low and the relative humidity is low, the ventilation of malt drying is small; otherwise, it is large. Therefore, the reasonable air volume is mostly selected on the basis of high air temperature and high relative humidity in summer. Generally, the air volume is estimated as 800 ~ 1200m3 / h per 100kg malt. In the actual design and calculation, it is calculated based on the feeding amount (green malt), the total amount of water removed by evaporation, the parameters of external climate conditions, and the pipeline loss. According to the calculated air volume, the fan specifications and models are selected to meet the requirements of reasonable air volume.
The reasonable ventilation area includes the air circulation area at the bottom of the grate and the cross-sectional area of the air duct. The maximum ventilation area of drying furnace can reach 25% ~ 30% or even 45% of the drying bed area, but the cross-sectional area of drying furnace air duct should match the air volume of selected fan, and 4% ~ 5% of the drying bed area is appropriate, not too large or too small.
(3) Reasonable ventilation process and operation in terms of single-layer horizontal drying furnace, reasonable ventilation process and operation can be divided into the following three stages.
① In the withering stage, "full exhaust" requires low temperature and large air volume for dehydration.
② The "half return air" in the drying and dehydration stage can ensure the heating rate and enter the baking stage in time, so the water evaporation is not much.
③ The "full return air" in the baking stage makes the hot air circulate strongly in the furnace to ensure the stability of the baking temperature.
The ventilation operation in these three stages should be adjusted according to the moisture content of green malt and external climate conditions.
