The method for mixing the milled malt with water during brewing
We all know that the malt better have a intensive mixing with the hot water during feeding process, in case caking and trying to make the enzyme totally works.
There are generally two methods for feeding the malt in to mash tun:
(1). The traditional way is saving water firstly inside of mash tun, at a suitable temperature and turn on the agitator at the same time. The milled malt then being transferred to mash tun slowly by the auger, stiring while mixing in case caking. But this method with risk of losing malt powder. And the mash may be oxidized and not good for the beer quality.
(2) With the help of Malt Hydrator
The Malt hydrator generally installed above the mash tun but below the Grist hopper. When the milled malt in hopper being dropped into the mash tun, it will goes through the Hydrator, at where the malt will be mixed with the hot water sparging out inside. And then goes into mash tun after an evenly mixing. It will better avoid the malt powder flying everywhere and avoid the caking.
